Since 1992 a single whale has been tracked as it roams across the largest ocean in the world, the Pacific. It’s of such interest as it may be the only whale of its kind, constantly searching and calling for its kin but being met by a constant silence. Since its numbers are so few, it has come to be known as the “world’s loneliest whale.” However, if humans don’t act now to protect all whales, each species will fall to the same fate as the 52 Hertz, eventually having only one (and then none) of its kind left on earth.

While the 52 Hertz closely resembles a blue or fin whale, it remains an individual whale of unidentified species. Its name comes from the unusual frequency of its call: 52 Hz. The pitch is a much higher frequency than that of other whale species.*
